A few of our Advent Activities

We've been having so much fun with our advent activities. It took Creed a few days to catch on, but now he asks first thing in the morning which box we get to open and what we're going to do that day. Here's a glimpse into some of our activities. We decorated the tree.
Then the next day, Creed and I met up with some friend to go to the Festival of Trees. This Hungry Caterpillar Tree was one of our favorites
Although Creed was a lot more excited about Santa being there (and a little bit nervous too)
He told Santa that he wants a big bike with training wheels
Saturday night we put our shoes out for Sinterklaas who came to check on whether or not we were being good.
He brought some fun european chocolates, but Creed's favorite was the chocolate initials that he brought (a tradition in the Netherlands)
Yesterday, Creed opened a new Christmas book, and we have already read it approximately one million times.
Today we're playing in the snow so I'm off to hopefully catch a few photos of that.

I cannot believe those ornery Festival of Trees workers didn't chase you away- given that you brought a child.

I was behind the ball this year for an advent calendar, but you have gotten me excited to get my life in order and do one next year.

I'm glad that you saw that Eric Carle tree. I took a bunch of pictures to show you actually. I loved the quilt. My kids were going crazy over it, but it all seemed less exciting than it could have been seein as how my mother-in-law who was with me had no idea who Eric Carle was. Really.

Do you think you could give us some good suggestions for favorite Christmas books? I'm looking for some classics or new ones to read for the next couple of weeks.

My question is... where on earth do you get good European chocolate? I LOVE the initial, too -- so cool. I've looked, and tried IKEA, but for some reason it wasn't as good as I expected. Maybe because I was pregnant? Anyway, I'd love to know your source.
