So, I'm having a really hard time find an area rug that I like that I can also afford for our living room. We have an old rug there for now so I'm not in a total rush, but I'd like to get settled and decorate a bit more, but I need a rug first. Do you have any suggestions of places to look?
I thought I had finally settled on this one until I showed it to my mom and she said that she really liked it, but she was suprised because it didn't seem like something that I would choose. She's right; I do tend to lean towards modern, clean lines or bold graphics so will this rug look funny in my house? Do you like it or is it a little too grandma-ish, especially when I'll have my leaf plate collection hanging in the same room.

I don't know if you have an IKEA near you, but they have great patterns-clean graphic styles-and are inexpensive. You can also buy online.
I just almost bought that rug the other day! I loved it but wasn't sure if I wanted to stick to those colors in my living room. I just went with this one instead:

I'm with your mom. It doesn't seem to be you.
Drove by your house today while garage saling. Miss you.
Is that the actual size of the flowers or a close up of part of the rug?
I like it a lot.
try this site:

i've ordered a few things from them (including rugs) and i was happy with the quality and the price.
{maybe} this rug is the beginning of a re-evolution??
You are young, your tastes will evolve...maybe this is you being brave about expanding your box. I like the rug. Not too grandma-ish.
i love it.
i dunno, but I LOVE it!
