Uhhh, yes! What kid didn't dream of having a treehouse? So when my nephews Cole and Grant came to spend a month visiting this summer, my dad decided to go to work. Originally, he told me it would be small and not high off the ground. Ummmm, yah . . . you can't see in this photo, but it's seven feet off of the ground and my whole family could move in. There's also talk of adding a slide soon.
I poked fun saying, "What, no stained glass windows?" and he said, "Well, I think I'm just going to do one."
You're awesome dad! I can't wait until Creed's big enough to play up there. And thanks to my mom for the photos.
All I can say is --I want one.
ReplyDeleteThat is extremely cool.
ReplyDeleteGo Dr. Borup! Who knew that those mad civil engineering skills were still there behind all that environmental knowledge! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW - that is really awesome! What a great place for a sleepover. Has he rigged the basket & pulley system for bringing up snacks, yet? You know - after you've pulled up the ladder to keep girls & other undesirables out...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lot of fun.
I am so jealous! How stinkin cute. Grand Dad's Rock. Grace
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be playing in it, until Creed is old enough to fight me for it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I wish my dad lived closer so he could do things like that for my daughter. That is super special!
ReplyDeleteThis is the greatest thing ever!!! Way to win Dad AND Grandpa of the CENTURY award, Stephanie's Dad!!!
ReplyDeleteSo now you have a new "I want to be the kind of mom who..." blog. It could be "I want to be the kind of mom who...allows sleepovers in a treehouse!" haha
Also, I was seriously thinking of you today when I went to Laie. I was at some classes, came out, and there's a parade! It was Laie Day, lucky me! The parade was awesome, and cracked me up because I figured that every single resident of Laie must have actually been IN the parade :) I got to see some hula, good music and eat a lau lau...which I forgot what that was until I opened it up...but it was good :)
Talk to you soon and that treehouse is fab!
Wow! My kiddos are all very jealous...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Fun! He'll have to give a copy of the plans to my dad so that I can talk him into making one for my kids! :)
ReplyDeleteHow are you settling in? We still need to get togather with the kids soon. :)
I have wanted a tree house since I was a little girl, then I wanted one for my two sons, but now they are grown men. Seeing this photo has reignighted my passion and motivation to design and build one for myself and hopefully to share with the grandchildren I hope to have one day. Thank you so much for sharing these photos. Your father is awesome!
