Remember this post about the lion and bear print that I love (It's printed so beautifully on a Gocco printer and such a charming design. I think we all need to own it)? Well, say you were going to add two animals to the series, what animals would you add? (and I know my additions are not as awesome as the originals)
I just can't decide. I think the elephant matches the look of the other animals better, but the monkey sound fits a little better with the others. Thoughts?
I agree the elephant looks better but I'm not sure either the phphh or the ooh ooh really matches the feel of the first three. I'd almost lean towards another animal altogether...
ReplyDeletea parrot could say squawk.
ReplyDeletedoes it make sense to even say an elephant say phphh? I mean you are saying a lion roars, a bear growls, a hippo grunts, and elephants phpps? How about an elephant trumpets? or something? right...cause a hippo doesn't make a sound that sounds like grunt?? right? get it?
I'm partial to monkeys myself, but I agree that the elephant looks better with the other three. Of course, Lisa made a good point about the sounds that the animals make. Hmm, I'm guess I'm not much help at all! Sorry! But the print is super-cute!
ReplyDeleteIf it is between the elephant and the monkey - I say monkey all the way. I am not a fan of the sound chosen for the elephant. Although I like the idea of going with another animal all together as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the elephant, and I would say "trumpet" for him. I think that fits with the other sounds. :) This is so awesome! You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI do like the monkey sound better. Maybe if he switched places with the bear it would be more esthetically pleasing to you?

I like both the same! (sorry, I know that's not super helpful) But... the other three are saying words that describe their sound, not the actual sound... so maybe you could say "trumpet" for the elephant? If that's the one you like the best, you should still use it. AND... I thought you did a great job of recreating the "look".
ReplyDeleteI like them both, sorry I'm no help.
ReplyDeleteI like the monkey, for sound and color!
ReplyDeleteya, see I agree that niether sounds really matches and another animal might be better (which is why I couldn't decide), but what animal? We thought of a lot of animal noises that would work, but an animal like a pig or a duck wouldn't really go with the other zoo-ish animals, you know?
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteCould the elephant say braloo?
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of the elephant! I think it's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI second Whit - love the elephant sound. Also love the monkey sound and tie, but fear he doesn't match - he's so visually appealing he becomes the focus.
ReplyDeleteYou know that I'm partial to elephants : ) But I must say, I don't think the monkey is as much of a mix match and some think . . .
ReplyDeletei prefer the monkey because the colors seem more balanced and i would move the lion to the second position so it looks more visually balanced.
ReplyDeletethis is SO adorable!
